Before September catches up with us...
- We enjoy solitude while the compound (and the city) is half empty
- We take hot baths in the sea
- We do things we know we won't have time to do once September takes us on its whirlwind
- We start going to places we want to discover before we leave the region: we've still got 10 months to go, but by starting early, we can make sure we go through our bucket list before we move to a different part of the world.
Our discovery of the week is a nice Indian restaurant located in the Mövenpick Hotel in Al-Khobar. The chef is said to be the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star. The restaurant is very nice, it offers a flawless service and a very romantic atmosphere (very difficult to find in the region). As for the food, it's spicy (Indian food, without spices, would be reduced to close to nothing), and quite refined.

The open kitchen |
Chicken tikka as a starter |
And lamb biriyani as a main course |
And at this time of the year, and for the first time in months, we get to watch a beautiful, slightly cloudy sky every sunset.
I guess they've never been to Playa del Carmen...! |
Wherever you are, enjoy the summer before it's over! I'm heading to Jordan tomorrow morning and hope to post great pictures in a couple of weeks.
